Walk in flu clinics will begin on October 1st. We will offer flu shots to established patients during walk in hours at all three of our offices.  Due to nationwide CDC recommendations we will only offer the flu vaccine injection this year; no nasal vaccine will be available.

Ashe office: Fridays 2:30pm-4:30pm

Avery office: Fridays 2:30pm-4:30pm

Depending on vaccine supply and patient demand we hope to offer these convenient walk in hours through December 20th.  Please call 828-262-0100 if you have any questions.

On April 1, 2019 Watauga Medical Center will move to a new model of
nursery care, using pediatric hospitalists to take care of newborn
infants. As a group, the pediatricians of Blue Ridge Pediatrics have
provided this service for almost 30 years. But as the medical system has
changed, we have realized the need to focus our efforts on our outpatient
clinics. Rest assured we are still taking new patients, including
newborns, and will continue to do so. By not managing the newborn nursery,
we will have more schedule availability in our three offices and the
potential to expand our services to the community. As a group we have been
involved in a years long planning process for this change and we are
confident that the pediatric hospitalists will be committed to continuing a
high level of pediatric care at Watauga Medical Center. If you have any
questions about any of these changes please do not hesitate to ask.

We are excited to announce that on Monday, October 3rd, we will begin offering a walk in clinic from 7:45 to 8:45 am Monday-Friday in our Boone office. This clinic will be limited to acute symptoms such as ear pain, sore throat, cough, pink eye, etc. Children with more complicated symptoms such as chronic issues, medication checks and well checks will need longer appointments in a scheduled slot and will not be seen during this clinic.

The walk in clinic will be on a first come first served basis with the first available provider. If your desire is to see a specific provider, it will be best to call and schedule an appointment. If you wish to be seen during the walk in clinic please arrive at the office as early as 7:45 am and no later than 8:45 am. You will be asked to provide a copy of your childs insurance card and copay upon arrival. We will do our best to see everyone in a timely manner, however; in our busiest times, such as flu season, it may require asking you to come back at a later time to decrease your wait time.
